Saving Money on Flowers
Tips to Save Money on Wedding Flowers
While wedding flowers can be a significant expense, there are several ways to cut costs without sacrificing beauty. Here are some tips:
1. Choose In-Season Blooms:
Seasonal flowers are often more affordable due to higher availability.
Research: Find out what's in bloom during your wedding month.
2. Consider Alternatives:
Greenery: Incorporate more greenery like ferns, eucalyptus, or ivy to balance out floral costs.
Dried Flowers: Dried flowers can be a stylish and budget-friendly option.
Paper Flowers, Silk Flowers, and Wooden Flowers: These types of flowers can add a unique touch and save money.
Combine fresh flowers and other kinds of flowers: You don’t have to do all one type of flower. You can opt to do fresh bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages and use silk flowers or wooden flowers for things like arches and centerpieces.
3. DIY or Family Assistance:
Arrange Yourself: Consider arranging your own bouquets and centerpieces to save on labor costs. We do provide bulk wedding flowers with a 4 bucket minimum for pick up only.
Family Help: Ask family or friends with a green thumb to lend a hand.
4. Repurpose Flowers:
Ceremony to Reception: Use ceremony flowers for reception centerpieces or décor.
Post-Wedding: Gift leftover flowers to guests or donate them to a local hospital.
5. Bulk Purchase:
Wholesale: Buy flowers in bulk from a wholesaler. However not all wholesalers will allow non-florists to purchase wholesale flowers. We do provide bulk flower orders for pick up only.
6. Minimize Waste:
Minimalist Approach: Opt for simple, elegant arrangements rather than extravagant ones.
Reuse Vases: Consider renting or borrowing vases to avoid purchasing new ones. You can also collect old bottles, or ball jars from Goodwill or other thrift stores, or consider looking on facebook marketplace in our local area.
7. Set a Budget:
Prioritize: Decide which floral elements are most important to you and allocate your budget accordingly.
Be Realistic: Set a realistic budget and stick to it.
By following these tips, you can create beautiful floral arrangements for your wedding without breaking the bank. Most florists do have a minimum charge, however you’ll typically hit that with just bouquets and boutonnieres as well as corsages without all the other bells and whistles. Remember, the most important thing is to choose flowers that reflect your personal style and add to the overall ambiance of your special day.
